Venice

I posted an event for our sketching group last weekend on Venice. Urban Sketchers did an online episode that featured sketches from John Ruskin done in Venice, so I had watched that show for inspiration. You can see more about the show and watch it here: http://www.urbansketchers.org/p/04-sketching-venice-with-john-ruskin.html

I chose 2 scenes to sketch from Google— one was of a building on the Canal (using Google streetview)….

The other sketch was of the clock tower (Torre dell’ Orologio) in St. Mark’s Square (various photos in Google images). I loved the blue and gold features of the clock, and found this photo on http://www.pexels.com to create a featured inset.

I sketched the tower, building, and a highlighted inset of the bronze statues that strike the bell. Blue pen worked nicely to write a few things about the sketch!
