I had fun sketching at the Bell Museum of Natural History a few days ago. There is so much to sketch! I chose to do a couple birds, one was in a diorama with shore birds, the Hudsonian Godwit, which looked like a large sandpiper with long legs. The other bird I chose was a swallow-tailed kite, a bird of prey. It was beautiful with black and white plumage. It’s impressive how artists can make the dioramas look so real and life-like! The second sketch I did was of some beavers chewing down a tree and eating leaves off a branch. Their fur was a reddish brown and I liked their webbed feet too!
