Here are a couple sketches I did recently, when the weather has been a little warmer and cabin-fever has prompted me outside! My urban sketching group did a virtual sketch-out in the town of Stillwater, but I wanted to go on location, so I sketched churches on a daunting uphill road. I sat in my car and caught the scene in front of me….

Here’s the scene and sketch….

Here’s the finished sketch….

I also sketched a man walking on the sidewalk past me… the gesture was quick and took only a few seconds.

Another sketch I did recently was at a local restaurant. I parked near their front curb and I noticed their array of old dead Christmas decorations, cluttered furniture, and signage. The pots were bright colors and caught my attention, so I just had to sketch them!

I like the spontaneous lines and use of colour. Wonderful sketch!
Thanks! It was fun.
I enjoy all your work…rarely comment. Sorry.
John, no apologies necessary! I’m just glad you enjoy my work, thanks for the comment. 🙂
