I took at trip to Washington over the Fourth of July week. I was able to get a few sketches completed between going to Mount Rainier, Olympic National Park, and Seattle. What an amazing state! Most of what I drew were in little snippets of time rather than scenery (we were on the go too much). Enjoy!
My sketching began before I left. Here is a sketch of a diner in the airport, I liked the red subway tiles. I sketched a guy sleeping against his wife’s shoulder.
This trailer was parked across the parking lot of our motel. It was bright blue and had colorful flags blowing in the wind. Fireworks were being sold, and I watched kids on bikes circle around the trailer in the parking lot. A roped off area kept them away, but they were still interested in the place. The town was gearing up for a parade, evidenced by people walking down the sidewalks in red, white, and blue.
This house was behind the motel on July 4. I liked its mint-green color, and once dusk came, the fireworks lit up the sky behind it. We watched out a window without having to venture outside. Port Angeles in on the water, and the display was excellent!
